My recent journey…

Welcome lovely souls!

You've learned a bit about my journey and how I got started from the About Me section of my website, but life, like yoga, is an ongoing journey. Over the past couple of years, I've faced numerous challenges, including multiple surgeries due to a cancer scare and other health issues. It's been a tough road, especially during those periods when I couldn't practice yoga. Movement is something we often take for granted until it's taken away from us.

Life has a funny way of throwing curveballs just when you least expect them, doesn't it? A few days before my last scheduled surgery, I received the news that my team's role at work was being eliminated. Talk about timing! With my corporate job suddenly in jeopardy, and amidst the upcoming surgery and subsequent recovery period, I found myself thrust into the chaotic world of job hunting. It has been a whirlwind of stress and uncertainty.

Throughout it all, I've been immensely grateful for the unwavering support of my friends and family. Their love and care have been my anchor during this tumultuous time. My children, in particular, sacrificed their holiday plans to be by my side, and my heart overflows with gratitude.

Amidst the chaos, one constant source of joy has been my yoga practice. Whether on the beach, at the park, or in my dedicated yoga room at home (yes, that was a non-negotiable when I moved in with roommates!) yoga has been my sanctuary.

During my health challenges, I pressed pause on teaching and hosting beach yoga classes and taking any private clients. It is important to me to be fully present for my students, and at that time, I needed to focus on my own healing journey.

Now, with a clean bill of health and a renewed sense of vitality, I'm excited to announce that I'll be resuming classes starting in March. Picture it: Saturday morning beach yoga sessions, and as the weather warms up we will add some sunset yoga sessions. While San Diego offers plenty of beautiful parks, there's just something magical about the beach that draws me in time and time again. PS - I am sure we will be doing some yoga in the park too, if that is your jam don’t worry I got you.

I'll be using this blog as a platform to share my journey, vulnerabilities, and insights with you. As Brené Brown beautifully puts it, "vulnerability is where connection happens," and that's exactly what I aim to foster here—a deep, authentic connection with each and every one of you.

So, keep an eye out for announcements regarding class times and locations. I can't wait to reconnect with you all and share the transformative power of yoga in nature. Until then…

Sending you all love and light.

Jen
